Choose your level
At level A2, you learn:
- Speak: introduce yourself at the municipality or to a neighbor, and share simple information about yourself (name, address, family situation).
- Listen: understand clear, slowly spoken sentences about everyday administrative matters, such as at a municipal counter.
- Read: read short, simple texts, such as a letter from the municipality, a simple form, or a sign with opening hours.
- Write: write a simple message, such as a short email to request an appointment.
At level B1, you learn:
- Speak: give directions, file a complaint with the municipality, or explain a problem with your paperwork.
- Listen: understand the main points of a conversation at a counter or during an information session, provided people speak clearly.
- Read: understand texts made up mainly of everyday or administrative language, such as a letter about your national registry or social rights.
- Write: write a coherent text about an administrative situation, such as a formal email to the municipality.
At level B2, you learn:
- Speak: express your opinion fluently and spontaneously on current social or political issues, and weigh the pros and cons of different viewpoints.
- Listen: follow the news, a debate, or a presentation on the Belgian political system, provided standard language is used.
- Read: understand the main ideas of more complex texts, such as a newspaper article on a current political topic.
- Write: write a clear, well-supported text defending a position on a social issue.
